Finnish Industry Investment Ltd has made a MEUR 15 investment in Capman Plc’s fifth mezzanine fund. CapMan Mezzanine V held its first closing on 22 September at MEUR 60. The target size of the new fund is MEUR 150.

CapMan Mezzanine V will make mezzanine investments primarily in medium-sized companies in the Nordic countries. Mezzanine financing is a hybrid form of debt and equity financing, offered by both banks and private equity investors.

“Although the fundraising market continues to remain challenging, mezzanine is viewed as an attractive product by many institutional investors. Mezzanine investments provide investors with an appealing risk-return profile with a combination of downside protection, regular cash flow from interest payments and an equity upside potential through access to capital gains,” says Jerome Bouix, CapMan Plc’s Deputy CEO and Senior Partner responsible for fundraising.

“CapMan has an established position as a provider of finance to Finnish and Nordic companies. Mezzanine financing offers companies a supplementary product for financing growth,” points out Industry Investment’s Investment Director Riitta Jääskeläinen.
