The gaming company Chat Republic Games has developed Finlands first community-based multiplayer online game set in the world of Formula 1 racing. Launched in cooperation with the AT&T William F1 team, the games development has been promoted by a private investor and by FII through direct investments, as well as by the Finnish Funding Agency for Technology and Innovation Tekes through its Verso technology programme.
On the Battery Formula Racing website players can create and develop their own characters, invite friends to join, and race with other formula fans around the world. Several hundred thousand players can compete simultaneously, establish their own formula teams and discuss or compete with other players or teams.
